 AI as the Artist and the Future of Music Rights: World IP Day 2025 -

AI

 Is AI an extraordinary creative tool or the reason creativity is dying? By mining endless quantities of data, AI can now do almost anything, such as creating a song in seconds in the style of any artist or genre. But what does this mean for musicians' intellectual property?

To honour World IP Day and the 2025 theme, "Music and IP: Feel the Beat of IP", we hosted an event in our London office last week where we held a panel discussion with six industry experts.

In this latest article, Partner Paul Cozens delves into the role of intellectual property in protecting and inspiring creative expression in music, focusing on the topical issue of AI and how it is impacting musicians' rights.

We are excited to share that our team in Oxford have moved to The Oxford Trust’s new Oxford Centre for Innovation.
